COMPUTING AI BLOCKCHAIN
ASSOCIATION
Computing, AI Blockchain Association (CAIBA) at the University of Miami aims to educate and empower students in disruptive technologies, including artificial intelligence, blockchain, and quantum computing. CAIBA aims to provides practical learning experiences, professional networking opportunities, and project-based initiatives that address real-world challenges.
Artificial Intelligence Team
The Artificial Intelligence team will evaluate the extent to which AI can be used to streamline efficiency in the academic and work environment. The team will focus on the applications of Large Language Models (LLMs), Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), Agentic AI, Machine Learning, Generative AI, and other AI tools. Additionally, the team will explore methods for optimizing AI performance, such as fine-tuning models, reinforcement learning, and data engineering techniques. By engaging in hands-on projects and research, members will gain practical experience in developing AI-driven solutions that enhance productivity, decision-making, and automation across various industries.
Blockchain Development Team
The Blockchain Development team will examine the use cases of the blockchain public ledger system. The blockchain team will dive into the blockchain technology of systems used on the Bitcoin, Ripple (XRP) and Hedera network. This team will focus on major mechanisms and technologies like consensus mechanisms (PoW, POS, PoA), smart contracts and cryptographic hashing. Additionally, the team will explore blockchain’s potential in decentralized finance (DeFi), tokenization, and enterprise solutions, providing members with a comprehensive understanding of how distributed ledger technology is shaping the future of digital transactions and security.
Quantum Computing Team
The Quantum Computing Team will explore the transformative potential of quantum computing across various industries. This team will examine key quantum technologies, including quantum algorithms, quantum error correction, qubit architectures, and quantum cryptography as well as quantum computing frameworks like IBM Qiskit and Google’s Cirq. By analyzing how quantum computing can revolutionize fields such as cryptography, optimization, and drug discovery, this team will gain a deep understanding of how quantum mechanics can be leveraged to solve complex problems beyond the reach of classical computing.
